For quite a long time the specific Denton Surgery website was withdrawn.  It has now been reinstated in a new format.

Volunteer Car scheme

The Earls Barton Volunteer Car Scheme supports patients who have no other means of transport, in keeping appointments at Denton Surgery or at hospital.

If you do not have your own transport and cannot manage the local bus, this volunteer car scheme can be contacted.

24 hour Accident and Emergency Department

There is a 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department with a separate Eye Casualty from 9am to 5pm. 

Northampton Minor Illness and Minor Injury Unit

The MIaMI unit moved from within the main General Hospital on 14 March 2010.  It is now located in the new Highfield Clinical Care Centre on Cliftonville Road.  See map above.

The unit provides treatment for a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries - from colds and flu to stomach upsets, ear infections, sprains, strains, minor burns and wounds.  The unit also provides help with emergency contraception.

The MIaMI unit is open from 8.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday  (but not on public holidays)

During evenings, weekends and public holidays, people who have urgent health problems that will not wait until their doctor's surgery is next open, should call NeneDoc, the out-of-hours doctor service,  03336 664 664  (see above)

Infant Welfare Clinic

A number of welfare clinics continue to run in the surrounding villages usually held in association with the local pre-school Parents and Under Fives  sessions.

If you are registered at Denton Surgery, then contact Health Visitor Marianne Taylor, telephone 890149 for details of a suitable clinic.


Parents and Under Fives

One group meets every Tuesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Denton Village Hall. The Health Visitor attends every second Tuesday of the month.

Another group meet on Thursdays from 1.45pm to 3.30pm in the Yardley Hastings Memorial Hall. During school holidays the group meets at private homes.
